This week, Pueblo School District 60 is unveiling its nominees for the 2020 Classified Staff of the Year Awards. Thirteen outstanding classified staff in District 60 were nominated by parents and colleagues, and endorsed by their principals. The winners will be announced Tuesday, June 23.

Valerie Gallegos, Principal's Secretary, Pueblo Academy of Arts
Nominated by Barbara Montoya and Jacki Benner

From her nomination letter:
"Valerie is one of the positive faces of the office when parents, staff, and students come for support. She is always respectful and supportive in her approach, and goes above and beyond to make sure details are taken care of."

"She is consistently professional in her demeanor toward all community stakeholders, no matter what challenges may come before her. She has many times anticipated a student/staff/parent need and let me know so it could be addressed in a timely manner. She is a strong team player and adds to the positive atmosphere that is apparent when anyone enters our office.

"Valerie is hands-on when it comes to dealing with participation in school and community projects. She is very organized, efficient and systematic in her approach, delivery, and execution of important materials to community stakeholders. Again, this is always done with a positive, can-do attitude."

Valerie Gallegos is one of 13 nominees in District 60 for a Classified Staff Award.
