When many students return to schools for in-person instruction on Monday, Aug. 31, staff and students will be expected to follow required health and safety guidelines to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “COVID-19 is mostly spread by respiratory droplets released when people talk, cough, or sneeze. It is thought that the virus may spread to hands from a contaminated surface and then to the nose or mouth, causing infection.”

Therefore, in order to lower COVID-19 exposure and spread, numerous health and safety expectations, practices, and procedures will be put in place in all D60 schools. The Pueblo School District 60 Return to School Plan (in Spanish), produced in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and our local health partners at the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment (PDPHE), outlines the measures being taken to ensure the safety of staff and students.
