Emergency Distance Learning Plan Grading Process

Grading Practice Philosophy (Emergency Distance Learning Plan)
During these unprecedented times of school closure, amidst the global health pandemic of COVID-19, it is necessary to provide guidance regarding the alternative grading process. Although the Emergency Distance Learning Plan provides an opportunity for learning, we acknowledge that it does not and can not replicate the quality instruction that occurs during in-person instruction at the school setting. This grading process aligns with a “Do No Harm” philosophy as our students and staff navigate these challenging times. Our goal is that students will benefit and be awarded for their efforts in completing 4th quarter assignments and tasks. We also seek to not harm students for work that they are unable to complete. Therefore we have adopted a grading practice that acknowledges the difficulty of this situation while still recognizing students for their efforts at continued learning.
