Cancellation of Out-of-State Trips for Students and Staff:

Effective immediately, D60 has made the difficult decision to cancel all school-sponsored and district-sponsored out-of-state and international travel for all staff and students through at least March 2020.  This includes all domestic and international travel for staff professional development. As additional information becomes available, other scheduled trips in the months following may also need to be canceled. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Please see the letter attached to the bottom of this message.

Current Status in Pueblo School District No. 60:

·       As of this writing, March 11, 2020, there are no known cases of COVID-19 in or impacting D60 or Pueblo. Confirmation of any cases will be through Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment.

·       On March 10, 2020, Governor Polis declared a state of emergency for Colorado.  Currently in Colorado, there are 33 confirmed cases and 0 deaths associated with COVID-19.

·      Principals will receive an overview of the Emergency Digital Learning Plan today and then will communicate the plan to staff.

·       We recommend parents begin to consider alternative arrangements for childcare in the event of the need to close schools. Any decisions to close schools will be made on a school-by-school basis, and we will be following guidance from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment as we make these decisions.

Please know that we take this situation very seriously and are doing everything in our power to ensure the health and wellbeing of all students, staff, and families in our community.
