Strategic Planning 2018

District Strategic Planning Process

Over the last several weeks, our school district has reached out to all community members to help the district develop a plan for the future that will set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, and ensure that employees and stakeholders are working toward common goals. This process will ensure the community and school officials can establish agreement around intended outcomes, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to an ever changing environment that puts children and student learning at the center. This process also ensures our strategic plan will meet the needs of our students and community.

Community input is essential to the process. Parents and community members are encouraged and invited to become involved in this process. In February, we had nearly 400 community members, parents, staff, students, and members of the business community come together in focus groups and feedback forums. We also had a survey seeking opinions and priorities from everyone in the community.

What’s next? In the coming months the board, district leadership, and our strategic planning partner be analyzing the community input to determine the strategies, objectives, and measures to guide our plan development. A draft plan will be available by the summer for additional input, with the goal of finalizing a plan before the 2018–2019 school year begins.
